Valentine's Day!

Jason gave Francesca a small bunch of daisies for Valentine's Day! She loved this! And later said to me, "that was so sweet of daddy to give me flowers". A daddy and his little girl, how special!
To get the kids to go to sleep, I told them the "Valentine Fairy" was coming and they had to be in their own beds, not mommy and daddy's bed. At 3am, Francesca came in to our room but quickly went back to her own bed because of the fairy! The next morning, they were a bit confused because they thought the "Valentine Fairy" was like the tooth fairy and there wasn't anything under their pillows! I had given them new bowls and cups and a book. I placed a cookie in each bowl, thought Owen would eat everyones! but instead they asked to eat the cookie before we came downstairs, never thought they would ask permission to eat a sweet left in their bowl! I later told them that I was the "Valentine Fairy" because they realized the cookies were from the party and Jason didn't think we needed another "fairy"!

Blizzard 2010 Part 2!!

Last Tues-Wed. it snowed a lot! I don't even have the amount in inches as it was so deep and drifted too much to measure! Kids had fun. Jason worked from home for 2 days and I had to miss 1 day of work. By Friday we were ready to get out of the house! I took the kids on many errands and to lunch at McD's where they could play on the indoor play area! They were very well behaved all day!

BLIZZARD 2010

Between Friday night and Saturday we got about 18 or so inches of snow! Hard to measure because there is lots of drifting. The kids LOVE it! I enjoyed playing out with them two times yesterday, but had had enough today! They went out with our neighbor who is 10 and played in the backyard. Parker would stay out ALL day, Francesca most of the day, and Owen for a little while. Owen did pretty well considering his height and the depth of the snow! We made many good memories this weekend with neighbors and friends! Possibly more snow to come Tuesday into Wednesday! Oh my!

Visit with My BFF

On Sunday, my bff from college-Heather-and her family came to visit for the afternoon. The kids have a blast together, especially after Francesca adjusts to being the only girl and joins in with the "wild" boys! The kids exchanged Christmas gifts, watched a dinosaur egg explode in a volcano, enjoyed Marshmallow Snowmen, and ran around like maniacs!
It is so nice to have a friend who has known you for so long and knows all of your good and bad qualities! I am glad Heather and I got back in touch about 9 years ago and our friendship picked up right where we left it in college. We may not have wild nights at Orky's and WIBS anymore, but we can still have fun! So looking forward to our spa day at Hershey in the spring (our gifts to each other for Christmas/Birthdays)! :)

Family pizza and Movie Night

Friday night we decided to let the kids make their own mini-pizzas and then have family movie night, as we were finally able to rent Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs fromt he RedBox. The kids had a blast making their pizzas on english muffins and loved chosing their own toppings. They were delicious! And the movie was good too! Love these little family traditions that we have been starting! :)
